CEC Career Opportunity: Instrumentation Technician (01)
Grade: CEC9 | Contract Type: Permanent | Location: Kitwe
This role is responsible for carrying out the repairs, maintenance and calibration of various electronic instruments to ensure that they are in sound operating conditions. The job holder will be reporting to the Supervisor – Power Plants (Instrumentation).
Key Accountabilities
- Undertake preventative maintenance on all Gas Turbine electronic apparatus such as temperature and pressure transmitters, speed and vibration pickups and all measuring panel instruments so as to avoid major breakdowns.
- Carry out repairs and calibration of various electronic instruments and appliances to ensure their reliability and availability for use.
- Carry out rehabilitation and modification of defective or obsolete instruments in order to adapt them to new operating requirements.
- Undertake the installation and commissioning of new equipment at required sites of the company so as to improve plant performance with minimum supervision.
- Demonstrate a positive attitude towards safe working practices and adhering to safety rules and regulations so as to ensure the safety and security of personnel and equipment.
- Able to understand and follow basic electrical/electronics drawings.
- Actively participate in identification and implementation of projects that demonstrate working in an environment of continuous improvement.
- Participate in personal training strategies and undertake appropriate training modules.
To be considered for this role, you will be required to have:
- Full Grade 12 School Certificate.
- Craft/Advanced Technician Certificate – Instrumentation/Electronics.
- Computer literate and fully conversant with the Microsoft Office package.
- 3 years post qualification experience.
