CEC – Change in Directorate

Pursuant to Section 3.59 of the LuSE Listing Requirements, the Board of Directors of Copperbelt Energy Corporation PLC (“CEC” or the “Company”) wishes to announce the resignation of Mr Derek Chime as director of the Board effective 2nd April 2024. Furthermore, the Board would like to announce the appointment of Mr Auke Lont as director of the Board effective 2nd April 2024.

Mr. Lont has a long and distinguished career as an energy executive, including 12 years as Chief Executive Officer of Statnett, Norway’s national power transmission company, where he served in that position until 2021. He has more than 25 years’ experience across the energy industry including oil and gas, retail and power generation. He has held several directorships in the energy industry during his career, including amongst others Chairman of the Norwegian Institute for Energy Technology, director of Gasunie, the national gas transmission company of the Netherlands and Bane NOR, the railway infrastructure company of Norway and was more recently appointed as a director of the newly created National Transmission Company of South Africa. Mr. Lont holds a Master of Econometrics from Vrije University in Amsterdam.

The Board wishes to express appreciation to Mr Chime for his valued contribution to the Company during his tenure as Director and wishes him well in his future endeavours. Furthermore, the Board would like to congratulate Mr Lont on his appointment and looks forward to his contribution to the Company.
