CEC – Job Scam Alert
The Copperbelt Energy Corporation PLC (CEC) has become aware of a scam intended to deceive members of the public into believing that the Company is currently conducting a mass recruitment for various positions.
The Company has also been made aware that these unsuspecting members of the public are being asked to pay a sum of money for them to be interviewed.
As a Company, we do not ask members of the public to pay any sum of money at any stage of our recruitment process. We offer prospective job applicants the ability to sign up for email alerts directly from the Company through https://email.cecinvestor.com/. We, therefore, urge the public to look out for the following before accepting to attend any job interview:
- Verify that you applied for the job that you are being invited to attend interviews for.
- A real Company or recruitment agency will have a website, active social media channels where job adverts are posted for wider circulation.
- Invitation for interviews are usually sent via a work email, with a professional electronic signature rather than a personal domain such as hotmail or google mail with a random string of letters or numbers like ([email protected]). Check the recruiter’s LinkedIn profile to make sure they exist.
- Real recruiters will never ask you for money. Such recruiters might be serving a financial scam.
CEC is advising members of the public not to respond to any calls for interviews which are not in accordance with the above list.
Kindly note that information from CEC intended for the public is published on the Company’s official website, social media platforms and in widely circulated newspapers.
Prospective job applicants may sign up for email alerts directly from the Company through https://email.cecinvestor.com/.
