CEC Notice of change in directorate

Pursuant to section 3.59 of the LuSE Listing Requirements, the Board of Directors of Copperbelt Energy Corporation PLC (“CEC” or the “Company”) wishes to announce the resignation of Mr Tisa Chama as director of the Board effective 27th November 2024. Further, the Board would like to announce the appointments of Mr Christoper Mubemba and Ms. Mukwandi Chibesakunda as directors of the Board effective 27th November 2024.

Mr. Mubemba has over 35 years’ extensive experience as a technical, financial and business leader in the management and operation of power systems and telecommunications. Mr Mubemba has in the last 25 years worked at various senior manager, Director and Board levels in the Electricity Supply Industry (ESI) in reputable national institutions and private sector companies and has provided consultancies to major multilateral and bilateral organizations.

Ms. Mukwandi Chibesakunda who currently serves as Chief Executive Officer for Zambia National Commercial Bank (ZANACO) has over 30 years’ experience in the banking sector. Ms. Chibesakunda has vast experience in the Financial Service Industry (FSI) in which she has held several executive roles. She is an accomplished business leader who has demonstrated a history of achieving results, including Best CEO in Zambia 2023. Ms. Chibesakunda serves as director on a number of Boards.

The Board wishes to express appreciation to Mr Tisa Chama for his valued contribution to the Company during his tenure as Director and wishes him well in his future endeavours. Furthermore, the CEC Board would like to congratulate Mr Mubemba and Ms. Chibesakunda on their appointments to the Board and look forward to their contribution to the Company.
