CEC promotes sport and fitness among Police women

CEC has donated a set of mobile netball goal posts to Wusakile Police Station to help revive the sport and to also provide an alternative sport for the women in uniform. Making the presentation in Kitwe yesterday, Investor Relations Officer, Precious Chisenga, pledged CEC’s support to efforts by the Zambia Police Service to promote the health and wellbeing of its officers.

Receiving the donation, Wusakile Police Station Officer-in-Charge, Mable Mayuma, thanked CEC for the gift. She said that they were more than ready to revive the sport of netball among the officers and that the donation would not only benefit Wusakile Station but the entire Copperbelt Police Division as Wusakile would now start hosting tournaments.

Ms. Mayuma was elated that female officers would now have a sport specifically meant for them to keep them busy and fit each Thursday afternoon, the designated Sports Day for the Police Service.

Female officers currently play games alongside men but desire to have their own program of activities.
