CEC’s environmental stewardship awarded

CEC has won the 2017 Environmental Award by the Zambia Environment Management Agency (ZEMA) in recognition of its overall contribution to sound environmental management practices in industry for its consistency in compliance to environmental impact assessment regulation demonstrated through among other things, subjection of proposed developments to the Environmental Impact Assessment process.

The award was presented to CEC at the Environmental and Climate Change Awards ceremony held on 22 June in Lusaka. In the category, CEC was up against Total Zambia Limited.

In awarding CEC, ZEMA acknowledged the Company’s Corporate Social Responsibility projects that promote prudent environmental management, utilisation of best available environmental practices and technology, involvement in green initiatives such as the production and use of biodiesel and the solar PV projects as well as the development and implementation of a green procurement policy.

CEC is also the winner of the 2016 Green Award by ZEMA.
