Auke Lont

Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Mathematics (Vrije University, Amsterdam); Master of Science in Econometrics (Vrije University, Amsterdam)

Experience: Auke has a long and distinguished career as an energy executive, including 12 years as Chief Executive Officer of Statnett, Norway’s national power transmission company, where he served in that position until 2021. He has more than 25 years of experience across the energy industry including oil and gas, retail and power generation. He has held several directorships in the energy industry during his career, including amongst others Chairman of the Norwegian Institute for Energy Technology, director of Gasunie, the national gas transmission company of the Netherlands and Bane NOR, the railway infrastructure company of Norway and more recently appointed as a director of the newly created National Transmission Company of South Africa.
