Invitation for bids | Supply of Soya bean seed to Copperbelt Energy Corporation PLC
The Copperbelt Energy Corporation Plc (CEC) is an independent power transmission and distribution company with interests in closely linked businesses, including optic fibre based telecommunications, in Zambia and the African region.
BIODIESEL PLANT
CEC has a Renewable Energy Unit, which focuses on exploring and developing sustainable energy technologies and resources. The Unit has an operational biodiesel plant located at the CEC Offices in Nkana East, Kitwe. The plant currently produces biodiesel from jatropha curcas and soya bean seed-derived crude vegetable oil as primary feedstock. The production process converts the crude vegetable oils and fats into biodiesel. The biodiesel plant has a production capacity of 900,000 litres per annum.
CEC invites interested organizations to submit sealed bids for the supply of 621,000kg Grade “A” Soya Bean Seed to be delivered to CEC or the nearest toll crushing point on the Copperbelt Province as will be detailed in the bidding documents.
Bidding documents may be purchased from the CEC Offices in Kitwe, upon payment of a non-refundable fee of Five Hundred Kwacha (K500.00) cash or bank certified cheque.
Bids clearly marked “Tender to Supply Soya Bean Seed” should be addressed to the Senior Manager – Supply Chain Management, Copperbelt Energy Corporation Plc, 23rd Avenue, Nkana East, P O Box 20819, Kitwe, Zambia. All bids must be accompanied by proof of purchase of bidding document in a sealed envelope and deposited at the CEC Security Offices in Kitwe.
Closing date for the receipt of bids is 10th July, 2017 at 14:00 hours.
Bids received after the time and date stated above will not be accepted.
