NOTICE TO SUPPLIERS AND CONTRACTORS | ISSUING OF ELECTRONIC INVOICES EFFECTIVE 1ST JULY 2024

Copperbelt Energy Corporation PLC (CEC) wishes to inform all local suppliers and contractors of goods and services registered with the Company, that effective 1st July 2024, all vendors shall be required to issue electronic invoices using the Zambia Revenue Authority (ZRA) Smart Invoice principles.

This Notice is issued pursuant to the Value Added Tax (Amendment) Act No. 27 of 2023 and the Value Added Tax (Electronic Invoicing System) Regulations, Statutory Instrument No.58 of 2023, which prescribe mandatory requirements for all VAT-registered suppliers to issue electronic invoices effective 1st July 2024.

Failure to comply with this requirement may result in withholding or delaying of payments to non-compliant contractors and suppliers.
