Power Dynamos Clinch Eighth Title in Exciting Season Finale

Power Dynamos Football Club (PDFC) were officially declared champions of the MTN-sponsored Zambian Super League for the 2024/25 football season, after a gripping one-all draw against Nchanga Rangers in their final match of the season played in Chingola on Saturday, May 17, 2025.

The Club kicked off their campaign with an impressive away win over Mufulira Wanderers, signalling their determination right from the start.

Despite playing five games with no victory from Week two to Week six, Power Dynamos shattered a longstanding record with an 11-game winning streak, demonstrating their dominance in the league.

The Aba Yellow played 34 games, securing 20 wins, eight draws, and six losses. They scored 54 goals, while conceding 22, resulting in a goal difference of +32.

With 68 points recorded, Power Dynamos surpassed the 2022/23 championship season’s 65 points, solidifying their position as one of the top teams in Zambian football.

Meanwhile, CEC PLC Board Chairperson, Mr. London Mwafulilwa has extended his congratulations to the Club for their championship victory.

“On behalf of the Board, Management, and Shareholders of CEC, as well as my own behalf, I would like to express my sincere congratulations to the team, Executive Management Committee, and the fans for being crowned champions of the 2024/2025 Zambian Super League.”

“This is no mean achievement, and it was only possible due to your dedication, collaborative effort, and impressive foresight,” he stated.

By winning the local league, Power Dynamos, will represent Zambia at the inter club Confederation of African Football (CAF) Champions League to be played later in the year into next year, making a second appearance in three years, as it aims to make a strong impression on the continental stage.
