Renounceable Rights Offer: Extension of period for trading of rights (LAs) on the LuSE

Introduction

In compliance with the Listing Rules of the Lusaka Stock Exchange (“LuSE”) and further to the Declaration Announcement dated 27 December 2013 and the Finalisation Announcement dated 17 January 2014, shareholders are advised that the period for trading or dealing in Letters of Allocation (“LAs” or “rights”) on the LuSE, in regard to the CEC Rights Offer, has been extended to 28 February 2014.

Previously, the trading in LAs or rights was to have ended on Friday, 21 February 2014.

However, taking into account the fact that many shareholders have experienced delays in receiving their Rights Offer Circular document (and LAs) via the post, the Company has decided to extend the trading period for LAs to Friday, 28 February. The revised time line for the trading of LAs is shown under the revised Salient Dates and Times below.

It should be noted that as per the Finalisation Announcement, the Rights Offer will still close on Friday, 28 February 2014, as previously declared. If shareholders have not received a Rights Offer Document they are advised to contact their broker urgently.

The Last Announcement giving the results of the close of the Rights Offer will be published on or around Monday, 03 March 2014.
