Renounceable Rights Offer: Extension of period for trading of rights (LAs) on the LuSE and the offer period

INTRODUCTION

In compliance with the Listing Rules of the Lusaka Stock Exchange (“LuSE”) and further to the Declaration Announcement dated 27 December 2013, the Finalisation Announcement, dated 17 January 2014 and the Extension Period of LA’s trading Announcement dated 24 February 2014, shareholders are advised that the period for trading or dealing in Letters of Allocation (“LAs” or “rights”) on the LuSE and Rights Offer period, in regard to the CEC Rights Offer, have been extended to 7 March 2014.

Previously, the trading in LAs or rights and Rights Offer period was to have ended on Friday, 28 February 2014.

CEC has noted that many shareholders have experienced delays in receiving their Rights Offer Circular document (and LAs) via the post, hence the Company has decided to extend the trading period for LAs and the Rights Offer period to Friday, 7 March 2014. The revised time line for the trading of LAs and the Rights Offer Period is shown under the revised Salient Dates and Times below.

It should be noted that as per the Extension Period of LAs trading Announcement, the Rights Offer will now close on Friday, 7 March 2014, and not 28 February 2014 as previously declared. If shareholders have not received a Rights Offer Document they are advised to contact their broker urgently.

NEXT ANNOUNCEMENT
The Last Announcement giving the results of the close of the Rights Offer will be published on or around Monday 10 March 2014.
