Vacancy: IT Network Engineer

VACANCY

Copperbelt Energy Corporation Plc is inviting applications from suitably qualified, innovative and dynamic individuals to take up the position of IT NETWORK ENGINEER.

Job Purpose

To strategize, design, implement and manage computer hardware, software, operating and communication systems installed on the Local Area Network in line with the overall corporate business plans.

Key Accountabilities

1. Plan and implement LAN/WAN infrastructure to ensure reliable and quality network service delivery that meets international standards. Examine and simulate network growth to ensure sustenance of CEC operations
2. Maintain all computer hardware/software and associated communication systems at a required level of availability in order to meet user needs. Install of workstation applications. Formulate and implement strategies to monitor the performance of the Network and System peripherals
3. Resource and carry out execution of IT network-related projects at CEC to ensure these projects are effectively implemented to deliver planned results on time and within budgetary limits
4. Implement network hardware and software security
5. Provide support to an active user base with LAN/WAN based and PC based business solutions
6. Undertake any other jobs that may be assigned to him/her from time to time within the department in compliance with company programmes of multi – skilling

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering or Computer Science
2. A minimum of three (3) years relevant working experience.
3. In-depth working knowledge of Windows LAN/WAN infrastructure and Exchange Server Messaging Systems.
4. MCSE or/and CCNA/CCNP are added advantages
5. Advanced knowledge in wireless networking
6. Experience of supporting an active user base with LAN/WAN based and PC based business solutions
7. Experience of PC installation and repair
8. Analytical and strong critical thinking and problem solving abilities
9. Hands-on experience in computer networking is essential

THE PERSON

A self-starter with “can do” attitude. Efficient, result-oriented and able to work with minimum supervision. Not older than 35years
