The Copperbelt Energy Corporation Plc (CEC) is an independent power transmission and distribution company with interests in closely linked businesses, including optic fibre based telecommunications, in Zambia and the African region. CEC invites applications from suitably qualified, innovative and dynamic individuals for the position of Technician Electrical.
Key Accountabilities
To carry out repairs and maintenance of electrical systems forming part of the Gas Turbine Alternator (GTA) plants so as to optimize plant performance.
Job Requirements
- Undertake preventive maintenance on electrical systems and apparatus on the GTA plant to ensure and assure reliability;
- Carry out electrical repairs involving diagnosis, dismantling, rectification of faults, assembling, installing and commissioning of the equipment so as to sustain Company operations;
- Carry out modification of defective components and equipment in order to adapt them to new operating requirements;
- Undertake the installation and commissioning of new equipment at required sites of the Company so as to optimize operations;
- Perform any other duties as assigned from time to time.
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 Certificate;
- Electrical Technician or Craft Certificate;
- Minimum of 3 years relevant work experience in an engineering environment;
- Ability to interpret electrical circuit diagrams;
- Sound knowledge in the construction, installation, maintenance, repairs and fault finding of electro-technical equipment in power generation plants; and
- Ability to work with minimum supervision.
