VACANCY
Copperbelt Energy Corporation Plc is inviting applications from suitably qualified, innovative and dynamic individuals to take up the position of TECHNICIAN – LINES.
Job Purpose
To carry out effective and cost effective line works on the system for the effective operation of the power transmission system.
Key Accountabilities
- Carryout transmission line maintenance to ensure stable and continuous power supply to customers.
- Carryout routine and post fault patrols on 11, 66 and 220kV lines.
- Compile routine and post fault patrol reports and maintenance works orders to facilitate good maintenance record.
- Check possible defects on transmission lines lifting equipment.
- Facilitate new equipment installation to satisfy customers’ needs.
- Facilitate equipment maintenance works in accordance with system, safety regulations to avoid accidents.
- Undertake any other job that may be assigned to him/her from time to time in compliance with company programmes of multi skilling.
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 O-Level Certificate.
- Craft or Technician Certificate in Electrical.
- 2 years post qualification experience.
- Minimum Class C Driver’s License
- Understanding of overhead transmission lines maintenance and construction safety.
- Ability to interpret overhead transmission line circuits.
- Ability to work on heights of 11, 66 and 220kV lines.
- Ability to communicate and write reports effectively.
- Computer literate and fully conversant with the Microsoft Office package.
- Experience in transmission line patrol and maintenance will be an added advantage.
