Vacancy | Technician – Solar Plant Operations

Copperbelt Energy Corporation Plc is inviting applications from suitably qualified, innovative and dynamic individuals to take up the position of TECHNICIAN – SOLAR PLANT OPERATIONS in the Business Expansion Projects Department.
Key Accountabilities
To carry out efficient and cost effective maintenance work and to ensure efficient and optimal operation of the solar PV power plant.
Job Requirements
- Conducting on-site routine maintenance, service, trouble-shooting and repair of solar photovoltaic equipment;
- Conducting DC and AC testing including polarity, open circuit voltage, grounding continuity, insulation resistance testing, I-V curve tracing;
- Completing and submitting of all assigned inspection and testing data as required;
- Operating solar PV plant to ensure optimal power generation;
- Identifying unsafe work or operating conditions and take proper action to avoid and/or mitigate hazards;
- Ensuring that all peers and subcontractors demonstrate safe work practices in accordance with CEC HSES Policies and standard operating procedures;
- Assisting with conducting risk assessment for all maintenance and operations activities;
- Contributing to the budget development process and ensure that costs are within the prescribed budget;
- Securely and confidentially maintain all operations and maintenance data for easy auditing and review.
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 School Certificate
- Advanced Certificate in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum two (2) years’ experience working with AC or DC systems in a capacity that may include design, installation, operation, maintenance or any combination thereof
- Ability to demonstrate basic working knowledge of PV power generating system fundamentals,
- Proficiency with MS Office applications including, but not limited to, MS Word and Excel
