CEC’s Education Sponsorship Program Helps Orphaned Student Achieve Dream of Higher Education

David Mwangala was faced with the challenge of not being able to afford his education after the loss of his parents at a young age. However, his fortunes changed when Copperbelt Energy Corporation (CEC) came to his aid with sponsorship for his college education.

Mwangala, who had just received his acceptance letter to Northern Technical College, was unsure how he would be able to afford the tuition fees. Fortunately, CEC stepped in and paid for everything, providing him with an opportunity to pursue the course of his choice.

The sponsorship proved to be life-changing for Mwangala, as it enabled him to complete his college education, find a job, and support his family. He is now the most educated person in his family and has been able to provide assistance to his siblings in their businesses.

Reflecting on his journey, Mwangala expressed gratitude to CEC for their help, saying, “I don’t know really how I can say my thank you to CEC because the sponsorship that was given to me has just been something that I never expected.” He hopes to continue helping others in his community and make a difference in their lives, just as CEC did for him.
