Former Employee of CEC Shares Success Story: From Apprehension to Entrepreneurship

Laston Chileshe worked for Copperbelt Power Company (CPC), ZCCM (Power division), Copperbelt Energy Corporation (CEC) for a total of 27 years before leaving employment and being apprehensive about his future. However, CEC provided training and mentorship in entrepreneurship for former employees, setting them on a path to venture into business. Chileshe took advantage of this program and started his own business, which now employs 40 people and supplies services beyond CEC. He attributes his success to the support he received from CEC, which included technical knowledge and training, office, accommodation, communication facilities, and contracts.
